The Experience
Stag and Lily is a wedding and event planning company based in Richmond,Virginia but known to travel. Our company was founded on the belief that weddings and events find meaning in being a true and unique reflection of the couple or host. They should be in the atmosphere, the details, the music, and the laughter. While the love of timelines, romance, and the perfect day sparked the beginning of Stag and Lily, the heart of our business took hold somewhere between understanding the immense importance of the very first event you will host together as a married couple, and believing that the best part really begins in the time after. The name Stag and Lily itself signifies a balance and coming together of feminine and masculine, grace and charm. We strive for organic, natural, thoughtfully composed events. Our hope is for our hosts to experience something that is the truest extension of themselves. We believe that Stag and Lily is everything you know you need. The venue, the flowers, the linen napkins. The black and white. You simply provide the love that colors the in between.
About Nicole
Owner and Lead Planner
Nicole Brantingham is a left coast transplant from San Diego, California. Her happy place is somewhere on a secluded beach or patio by the sea, listening to the waves crash, with the sun on her face - yet still reachable by phone or e-mail because there is always a special event to plan. She has had the same best friend since she was born - the extrovert to her introvert - the soul sister that taught her how treehouse tea parties are always a good idea while wearing princess costumes and dress-up wedding gowns.
As divine intervention would have it, her entrepreneurial spirit was born while attempting to reinvent the lemonade stand, create an in-home perfumery, and start her own stationery company - all before the wise age of ten years old. She graduated from Randolph-Macon College in 2009 with a degree in International Studies and Journalism. It was her time spent in various leadership positions such as a Public Relations Chair for a charity fundraising event and Chief Operations Officer of her sorority that ignited her love of planning and logistics. Like any great romance begins, she met her husband at a coffee shop shortly after graduation, and like the true sentimentalist she is, still owns the bottle of Provence Rosé they shared together that night. Yes, she walked down the aisle to “Falling In Love In A Coffee Shop” by Landon Pigg and yes, they named their three miniature dachshunds Pinot, Syrah, and Cabi.
Shortly after founding Stag and Lily, and because continuing education coupled with experience invariably makes for the best combination, Nicole became a Certified Wedding and Event Planner in 2015, to better serve her clients. When she isn’t planning weddings or your next backyard bash, you’ll find her chasing her 4 babes, volunteering, dining at a local restaurant, watching too much television, and dreaming of family plans or her next destination.
About Matt
Assistant Coordinator
If you’ve worked with us before, you’ve very likely seen Matt running around and doing the heavy lifting. When we first started Stag and Lily, Matt’s help was supposed to be temporary; after all, can two “oldest children” (and married couple) really work well together? Years later, Matt is still rocking the Stag and Lily logo, fixing place cards, and moving that chair just a few inches to the right. Matt’s attention to detail and extroverted personality are big reason why our event days are so successful. Apologies in advance when he asks your DJ to play “Pony” by Ginuwine. Don’t worry, we won’t let him on the dance floor.
Matt graduated from The College of William and Mary and currently works as a Real Estate Professional in Richmond helping investors and property owners turn their real estate into long term assets. As a perk of the job, he also loves helping clients buy and sell when the time is right. In his free time (what free time?), he enjoys spending time with family, reigniting his golf career, and serving on the board of the Richmond Property Owners Association.
